Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Behavioral Health Activities Coordinator, under the direction of the Behavioral Health Adult and Gero’s Unit
Supervisor provides rehab group on the Adult and Gero’s Units does an activities assessment with each patient and participates in the treatment planning process. Participates in observing, reporting, and recording of patient’s behaviors. Responsible for helping to provide a safe and secure unit environment for all patients and staff. Conducts regular safety inspections and maintenance of ropes course. Must be dependable and emotionally stable, possess a genuine interest in people, have the ability to follow directions and be motivated learn. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to read, write and comprehend medial terminology. Must exhibit a professional appearance and be at least 21 years of age.
Responsible for maintaining personal and professional growth and development and work as a team member.

TASKS:
•Provide Rehab (ETR) groups for adult and gero unit patients
•Maintain the ropes course in a safe condition
•Maintain ETR licensure
•Assist with staff training/development/competencies
•Perform an activities assessment on all adult and gero’s patients
•Apply physical intervention techniques as a last resort to prevent harm to patients and/or staff
•Maintain accurate, detailed progress reports and records
•Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions
•Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
•Promotes customer service (Patients, Families, Visitors, Employees)
•Other duties as assigned

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
•Ropes Certification
•BCLS Instructor
•CAPE
•Valid Drivers License issued by the State of Oklahoma (if applicable)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•Previous Behavioral Health Inpatient experience preferred.

EDUCATION:
•High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer some college.
•A bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Sociology will be recognized as 4 years experience towards in-grade.
